Last Sunday was kind of boring; all I did was sit at home and watch movies. One of the movies I watched was The Bourne Identity, because I'm reading the book. Some people who know me know how I love knowing self-defense moves and such, and someday I'd love to learn jujitsu, which is a less formal self-defense that Bruce Lee founded and made it into sort of a mixed martial arts. Anyway, I was watching Matt Damon on-screen and even though it was all choreographed I couldn't help but think, "I really want to do that to someone some day."
I like boxing, but street fighting just isn't my thing. It's pointless, proves nothing, and is a waste of time and energy, so if someone puts me in a situation where I absolutely have to fight them, no question about it, I want to take them out quickly with as much pain as possible, because I want them to learn the first time that they don't want to fight me again. I know this isn't always the case, because you win some and lose some; trust me, I know. So I went onto Youtube and looked up self-defense/street fighting moves. I found a few videos that were pretty cool; from Sensei Anthony Britton, a jujitsu champion, and UFC champion Bas Rutten. There's too many videos to actually put in my blog so I'm going to list my favorite ones below:
Bas Rutten Self-Defense - "I don't believe in an eye for an eye. I believe in two eyes for an eye."
Anthony Britton - Vital Striking Points (this one is very good, even though I knew most of them)
Anthony Britton - Choke Hold Release (I hate choke holds so I love this move)
Anthony Britton - Advanced Choke Hold Release
Anthony Britton - Loop Choke Submission (choke a person who is on top of you with their own clothes)
ExpertVillage - Disarm an attacker with a gun (very good video, but timing is everything)
Lijun Wang - Gun Disarm #1
Lijun Wang - Gun Disarm #2
Lijun Wang - Punch Counter Attack (also pretty cool, but time is everything)
...and that's pretty much it for anyone interested. That's not all, however, I've saved the most important video for last.
If you want more just Google Video/Youtube "self-defense tips" or whatever.
Have a good day,
Seal
